The Persimmon Cup began in 2020 when Andy and Rob set out to create a competitive golf event rooted in camaraderie, tradition, and fun. What started with 12 friends has grown into a 36 player annual showdown, now heading into its 7th Cup. Along the way, 58 players have had their names etched and immortalized on the Cup, becoming part of its growing history.

Named as a nod to the classic era of golf, the event features two iconic teams, the Great White Sharks and the Golden Bears, honoring legends of the game.

Held each year at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana, the tournament follows a five round Ryder Cup style format featuring best ball, scramble, and head to head matches. Team captains, selected from the previous year’s MVP and Rookie of the Year, draft their squads, adding strategy and anticipation to the weekend.

As a tribute to the tournament’s namesake and a playful nod to golf’s roots, each day includes one hole where every player must tee off with a persimmon driver. The tradition delivers nostalgia, laughs, and a challenge players embrace every year.
